Passport and Visa

A valid passport and visa for visiting China are required. Upon receiving your online registration, CICCST will send you a visa invitation form with which you can apply for an entry visa at the Chinese Embassy or the nearest consulate general.

Weather

Beijing is located in the temperate zone and enjoys a continental monsoon climate. Late August in Beijing is sunny and fine. The average daily temperature in late August is about 25C (77F).

Insurance

The registration fee does not include insurance for the participants regarding accidents, sickness or loss of personal property. It is advisable that participants make their own arrangements in respect of health and travel insurance before leaving their countries.

Currency Exchange

In China, only RMB is used. However, exchange centres can be found at airports, most hotels and large shopping centres, also at the Congress venue-BICC. When exchanging money, please keep your receipt by which you can change any remaining RMB back to foreign currency when leaving China. Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club and JCB are accepted in many department stores and hotels. ATM could help you for obtaining RMB using your credit card.

The Bank of China and most hotels can cash travellers' cheques issued by any foreign bank or financial institution. Participants will need to show a passport and pay a 0.75 percent commission. Travellers' cheques signed over to a third party cannot be cashed in China, but can be presented for collection through the Bank of China.

Arrival in Beijing

Taxi service is available at Beijing Capital International Airport the whole day. The cost from the airport to the selected hotels is about USD12-15, or RMB 100-120 Yuan including the extra highway fee of 10 Yuan/car. Please ask the driver for a receipt. More details will be available on the Congress Web site.

Reconfirmation of Air Tickets

Departure air tickets (both international and domestic) should be reconfirmed 72 hours in advance. Please call your airline office in order to confirm your departure flight.
